Sometimes there are little vegetarian options out in the world, and it can be hard going from meat eater to learning how to cook balanced and nutritious vegetarian options. It can be hard, because many of use aren’t cooking balanced meals in the first place. This blog was started in a way to start a “recipe box” of vegetarian foods I’d like to try and see if they’re any good.
Three Reasons to Try Veggie!
1. Stop Cruelty to Animals
This one is the first reason why many people switch to veggie. I’m not here to guilt ya, I just don’t like what’s being done in the industry. I don’t think its wrong to eat meat, I just think the way mass corporations are doing it is completely immoral. If you want to go out and live in the wilderness and hunt everything, and eat everything you catch, go ahead. I’m not gonna, so I swore off meat of any kind. I try and only eat organic, and local farmers eggs and dairy.
But you can still make simple choices to stop cruelty… like trying some veggie meals!
2. Reduce your CO2 emission
To raise, butcher, and ship animals takes much more CO2 than your car could even dream of coming up with… I promise. Just substitute one day of your meat meals every week and you’re saving enough CO2 emissions to power a car for 100 miles!! (Find out more) (Does Meat Really Affect My CO2 Emissions?)
3. Reduce risks of serious diseases
High cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart attack, diabetes, osteoporosis, and obesity have been proven to be greatly reduced on a vegetarian diet.
